  1. Did they make what they wanted to make or what people want to buy?

    Most people I know want an affordable electric vehicle that doesn’t spy on the driver, doesn’t report back to the central panopticon, and is economically viable to own and repair with reasonable range.

    No one want to shell out $2,500 for a new pair of headlights if you need to replace them. No one wants to pay for a $20,000 battery replacement right when the warranty is up. We don’t want a plastic box that doesn’t last a decade.

    I hate to see it, but China car manufacturers are going to rule the electric vehicle road for the next few years.

  2. Every market except the US (due to protectionism) is getting flooded by reasonably high quality Chinese EVs so the margins have fallen through the floor on the folks building them. I think even Tesla is going to have a very hard time going forward.

  3. No no no. Ford lost 1.3billiion this quarter. It was 4.7B in 2023. And 2B in 2022.
