I don’t know why anyone would think that Liverpool were going to get rid of their top goal scorer for the past seven seasons while he’s currently the top goal scorer has also created the most chances in the side.
One sideline spat and people were claiming he’s gone. It’s embarrassing for rivals to be getting excited over something like that and it’s even more embarrassing for the Liverpool fans that were also calling for him to be sold.
Nostalgia aside (considering he’s one of the all time greatest players that ever played for the club) the fact that he is still performing at such an elite level after all this time is crazy. The disrespect from some fans to want him shipped off is insane. Klopp leaving has absolutely broken some people I think.
I can see the case for keeping him, it’s pretty clear… but I would have thought that if they can get a good fee for him at 31 yo, then it’s time to cash out.
Liverpool are usually pretty shrewd about moving players on at the right time and although Salah is still performing at a high level, I think we can see the slight decline.
It’s always a balance between keeping players that are important for the squad and getting a return financially to allow them to be replaced, I find it interesting that Liverpool don’t see that balance tipping just yet.
Good news, hasn’t been quite right since his injury, a summer off and a pre season under his belt I’m sure we’ll see Mo back to normal for next season..
Stating anything different would seriously harm market value. I haven’t seen a single sane club tell “Oh yes, we’ll love to see this player go, please we’re accepting desperate offers”
Bad move for Salah he could move to a big team and win real trophies

With the spending cap coming in getting a replacement for him next season might not be easy for Liverpool.

I think if they can get £50m then it’s great business for Liverpool.
