There are 2.4 million Palestinians in Gaza. According to Hamas, Netanyahu has killed 34,000 people there so far.
That’s a very badly done ethic cleansing. If ethnic cleansing was true, then it should have easily been a hundred thousand or more. The term ethnic cleansing is being thrown around way too much and too freely.
Also, the 34,000 number is a number released by a terrorist group. While it is obvious thousands have died, we don’t know the actual real number. Nor do we know the ratio of citizens vs fighters.
We do know that Hamas has been caught multiple times lying about numbers as well as blaming deaths on Israel that have been their own action.
But this is war. Deaths do happen. You can’t go into another country, kidnap, rape, torture, and murder a thousand people in 1 day and not expect the country to go to war over it. You can’t play victim while hiding kidnapped people behind innocent civilians.
People are demanding Israel end the war but in that same demand, they are not adding that the kidnapped people be released nor Hamas be disbanded nor that Hamas never go back into Israel again.
If your neighbor goes into your house and kidnaps your baby, murders your wife, and rapes your daughter, do you think that is not fair when he will then come into your house and hunt you down so you don’t do this to the rest of his family?
What Hamas did was an actual attempt at ethnic cleansing. They went into Israel and hunted Jews. If they could have killed more, they would have. Israel is not going into Gaza and hunting Palestinians. They are hunting the terrorists that attacked them.
I hope this war is ended soon. I think the deaths that have happened to innocents on both sides is tragic. I hope for a 2 state solution.

Netanyahu, much of the Israeli government and military, and some among the populace view the Palestinian people as less than human and have wanted to eliminate them for years. They are taking advantage of the Hamas attack to expedite that agenda …ethnic cleansing plain and simple … and it is disgusting that we are supporting/financing/arming it. To call calling that out antisemitism is to say that the racism and ethic cleansing is what Judaism stands for … I would hope that that is not what Judaism stands for.
But it’s ethnic cleansing carried out by an ally, so it’s all good.
I like the use ethnic cleansing more than genocide because what’s going on in Gaza does not fit the definition of genocide. There are more Palestinian people in the region than ever and if Israel really wanted to genocide the Palestinians, they would have.
Ethnic cleansing on the other hand is a better description because the Israeli government ime does want to occupy and push the Palestinians out of the region.

It’s how the Israeli goverments works. It does not matter if it’s Netanyahu or someone else. They will all treat the Palestinians the same. It’s what they all have in common with each other. It’s frustrating how they are painting Shitenyahu as the only person who is responsible for all of this. Left or right they both have the same goals in the end.
Kick Netanyahu out and the next person will continue what Netanyahu continued from the guy before him and so on.

I agree with Bernie. And the student protests are not wrong. The whole world went to war against Nazi Germany partly because of what Hitler was doing to Jews and other minority groups, including gay men and women. What Israel is doing now is no different than what Hitler was doing. It makes much more sense to help/incentivize the Palestinian people and get them to give up the terrorists within their midst. And just like the United Nations found a homeland for Israel, the Israeli government must respect the fact that Palestinians also deserve a right to exist on their land—peacefully.
But I also think it’s bizarre that the world isn’t equally dismayed by the ethnic cleansing going on in China for the past several years…
