  6. In theory, there’s nothing wrong with wanting to be independent but you have to be prepared to make some sacrifices if you want to do that. I doubt Britain really thought about the consequences of leaving the EU.

    Who pisses me off the most though is David Cameron. He did not take it seriously until a week before the referendum. Months of propaganda and media campaigns against a prime minister who didn’t even get involved.

    A lot of it came from lies or stretched truth from the one and only Boris Johnson (I feel like directly lying by politicians should be criminalised, there should be a high bar, but it should be a crime considering the consequences)

    Also, I can’t believe that no one talks about the whole Cambridge analytica saga where they sent adverts directly to people they deemed as “persuadable” (stupid enough) to vote for Brexit and against their own interests.

    I’m pretty sure something similar is going on in America with all this vaccine nonsense.

    The persuadables will ruin the planet if something is not done about online manipulation from large government/corporate entities.

  38. What is it with farmers around the world that makes them so oblivious to the benefits they receive from free trade? Show them a crazy politician or referendum and they’ll gladly give up their biggest markets to get behind them.

    I totally understand factory workers being a bit wary of trade deals, but I can’t figure out what farmers think they’re getting from tariffs and border checks.

  39. Is it wrong to be happy that so many racists in britain are suffering? I mean, I really feel for the decent ones who voted to stay and for the ones who were duped into voting to leave, but immediately realized their mistake, albeit too late. But the stubborn racists who still stand their ground and dig in deeper that leaving was a good idea, their suffering is like sweet sweet ambrosia to me.

  40. I am confused here. She said she went to meetings every week and was extremely well informed on potential consequences of Brexit. Therefore she was well aware of consequences of leaving Single Market and was prepared to accept them. And one of these was banning EU workers from UK economy. So what is her problem, she got what she wanted. Could it be she was all for bearing any negative consequences, on the assumption that there would be none for her.
