  1. This map is missing Istanbul; second oldest in the world after London. Since 1875.

  2. 🇬🇧 Another example of Barry Exceptionalism 🇬🇧

  3. Yet more proof of British supremacy 💪💪💪

  4. Damn so it was the Barries who civilzed the PIGS like the Gayreeks huh?

  5. Just imagine what would have happened if there would have been social media around then. Every time a new city would announce their Metro System, London would comment with “First!”

  6. Oldest one in America is Cuba. Built back when it was still Spanish.

  7. Our metro was made when Greece was a French colony i guess.

  8. UK had metro in 1863 meanwhile we just had serfdom abolished in 1861 ijbol 💀

  9. My own cities Liverpool is older than all of those listed apart from London. 1886.

  10. When it is raining so much in your country that you decided to dig an underground network in 1863 to escape this weather

  11. Fun fact, Budapest has the second oldest metro in the world, and the oldest electric metro in the world. Say what you want about Austria-Hungary, but they got to finally be first in something.

  12. And the Glasgow one never expanded ever since, still the same wee circle lol

  13. Fun fact: Berlin hasn’t improved their metro service in 120 years.

  14. Paris could have been the first one but it took more than 50 years just to approve a project. You can’t make it more french than that

  15. Had no idea Glasgow’s was that old. I will now regurgitate this to everyone, thanks.
