Honestly? Yes, you can hear the italian, but im guessing japanese and italian have very similar sounds because it works very well.
I do understand some italian.

I’m from Vietnam, and my neighbourhood used to have an Italy-Vietnam family, the husband is Italian and the wife is Vietnamese. The husband had a really REALLY thick Italian accent even though he was very fluent in Vietnamese. They moved out now, I kinda miss them
