this year there’s a notable new addition
45-year-old Bill May jumped on the
opportunity to compete the first time
men are allowed to participate in the
sport at the Olympics it’s a dream but
it’s also a huge opportunity for the
sport so for young athletes to see it
and see the inclusion of men and to see
the acceptance I think it’s a big step
for our sport to grow and to become even
a greater
sport after retiring from artistic
swimming in 2004 main made a comeback in
2015 when men were allowed to compete in
the world championships and went on to
win gold it’s that first Podium finish
that the Americans are chasing in Paris
after taking home two bronze medals in
the wel championships earlier this year
an opportunity all the greater given
that Russia which has won all Olympic
gold in Duet or team since 2000 is
excluded from Team
events of course they were Gold forever
so it’s one more sport for China for me
for for everyone Team USA will also
participate in the second round of the
World Cup this weekend which will take
place at the new Olympics Aquatic Center
in the per pran suburb of sandon
American artistic swimmer Bill May wants to see the next generation inspired to break gender barriers, as his sport allows male competitors at the Paris Olympics for the first time. May was the first male world champion in the inaugural mixed duet technical event at the 2015 World Aquatics Championships and the 45-year-old never lost his passion for the sport even when an Olympic bid felt nearly impossible.
