The world ‘standing up’ on behalf of Ukraine ‘really matters’: Richard Marles

Deputy Prime Minister and Defence Minister Richard Marles says it is a “real critical” time for Ukraine.

Mr Marles’ comments come after the government pledged $100 million in funding for Ukraine.

“It really matters that the world is standing up on behalf of Ukraine now … that’s why we felt it was important to not only make this next announcement … but to actually go to Ukraine and make the announcement there,” Mr Marles said.

“The American package is going to make a very significant difference in their ability to be able to prosecute the war or their interest in the war.

“This is an existential conflict for Ukraine, and Ukraine must be able to resolve this conflict on its terms, and we will stand with Ukraine for as long as that takes.”

  15. The Ukraine war has been over for about a year, more money means more deaths manpower is so low that Ukraine has just ordered 50,000 womens uniforms.
    The Ukrainians are trying to cancel their citizens in other countries passports cancelled so they will be deported.
    This war will not last another 3 months.

Trump has said he will pull support for Ukraine if they dont come to the negotiation table, he also said that if Russia won't come to the negotiating table he will give Ukraine all the weapons they need, Trump want's to stop people dying. On the other hand Marles like Biden is happy to feed Ukrainian bodies to the dogs of war, by the time its all done their won't be enough Ukranians to maintain their country.

  31. Ukraine is, and has long been, utterly corrupt. It is not democratic in any sense. Zelensky provoked an unnecessary war, despite Russia's pleas for him to abide by long-held agreements, by doing the one thing that would ensure Russia's justified and fore-warned reaction. Zelensky has thrown nearly all of his country's fighting aged men into the meat grinder with no result. Not one dollar of our money should go to this sociopath.

  32. Really the world lol. The US, UK collective west, Inc Australia are only 15% of the world stage fgs. The US, their vassal States the UK, NATO cabal war against Russia, with Ukraine as a means to end, which started in 2014, after the illegal coup by the US NATO UK, under Obama, overthrowing the ligitimate leader for their nazi puppet Zalenskyy is over, all bar the shouting, at the cost of billions of tax payers money, tens of thousands of lives, for a war that should never have happened.

This guy gives away Australian military equipment and never replaces it. He steals from the Australian Army – to make himself look good – for the their dodgy mates in Washington.

    And on the subject of Washington. The hundreds of billions of dollars for Ukraine. Never get there – in a timely fashion or manner. The money – then goes off to the Pentagon – who then divvies it up – with defense contractors. And lobbyists – and then some of that money comes back – as campaign donations to the Democrats.

    And the U.S. does send old second hand equipment to Ukraine. Like the gear – even the National Guard – don't use any more. And the money buys all new equipment that stays in the U.S. – to replace the old equipment sent to Ukraine.

    The U.S. can't even make enough artillery shells. To give you an idea in Gulf War 2 – the U.S. fired 34,000 rounds of artillery. Russia now will make in 2024 – (2) million artillery shells. That tells you something. Russia is not relying on it's air force – or it's bombs – or missiles.

    They have overcome the "drone problem" in Ukraine. And now – they are massing their artillery. And they grind up – 500 – 700 Ukrainian soldiers a day. The end result here is. Russia just keeps the pressure on – and at some point – Ukraine runs out of soldiers. That's how they did it in WW2 – and that's how they are doing it now.

    Washington is hiding the truth – Ukraine – is near collapse. That's the crowd – that left wing Marles – gets from his good left wing mates in Washington. Between all them – not an ounce of intelligence – to be seen. They are all just telling lies. The only problem for Frequent flier Marles – is – he is out of the Washington loop. And what they wont tell him is – most good news journalists – would have better information – on how Ukraine is doing – then monstrosity marles.
