Just had a quick check, the majority of posts on there come from the same 3 people. So while it is a cesspool of shite over there, its mainly 3 nutjobs doing the posting and others just parrot it. They’re basically the guy who was absent for the entire duration of a group project so the other members had to do the extra work that he didn’t do, yet when they got a good grade he was more than happy to accept it despite only being a negative impact.
I think for a lot of them their lives are just so shit and boring, they have to make up bullshit like this to pretend that they’re some great resistence fighter or hero.
It lets them escape from the reality of their situation. And then other nutters start agreeing with them, and feeding each others delusions, and they develop an echo chamber of people telling them they’re right, they’re special, they’re awakened to secret truths and everyone else who doesn’t believe their ridiculous conspiracies are “asleep”. They love the attention. They love feeling special. They love feeling like they alone know the truth of the world.
It’s preferable for them to believe there’s some evil global cabal manipulating everything, because then they have an excuse for why their lives are so shit, and don’t have to do anything or try to improve their lives/the world around them.
