  1. I must say, from watching FAkings, I struggle to work out what race the Spaniards are. Half Roman, half Arab, half awake is my conclusion.

  2. Spanish people dna goes back milenials. We don’t have roman blood, we were part of the Roman empire, that is different, until the nordics invade us to destroy the empire civilization and start the medieval ages.

  3. The romans were in my area for 10 times more time than the arabs tho

  4. the arabs were fucking chads, just as much as the romans. which is why we were the chaddest of chads and took over the world. we are retired now tho, time to siesta

  5. There’s been a lot of anti-southern European propaganda on this sub lately… But responding to the meme, it’s more than proven that the genetic footprint of the Moors in the Iberians is almost zero. Furthermore, there was never a replacement of the native Iberian population by Arabs as only a small group of Moorish soldiers and elites entered the peninsula (and not the general population of those countries), and even those, most of them were much whiter than the present-day average North African.

  6. Let’s see Blas Infante’s response.

(what kind of name is that anyway)

  7. They’re not Arabs, they’re African. American told me .

  8. When you talk about Semitic Spain then start with Phoenicians and Carthaginians

  9. the first thing we did after the reconquista was to expel every jew and muslim then a hundred years later we expelled all the converted and mixed race too

so its pretty easy to not feel related to them

  10. Real question for any spaniard seeing this. Which genetic group are spaniards closer too?

    Germanic (Visigoths)

    Arabs

    Romans

    Celts

  11. I mean just looking at my own family, I am of Spanish Jewish and Catholic descent and among those the only Middle Eastern ancestors I have are Jews that came and integrated in to the Spanish Jewish communities. Obviously I don’t have every single line traced but I have a lot and among both my Jewish and Catholic Spanish ancestors I haven’t found a single Muslim. It’s entirely possible and I’m sure it is there somewhere, but the idea that Iberians are 50% Arab isn’t really factual. I have more evidence of Roman ancestry than Arab and my family is in large part from the South 🤷🏻‍♂️
