1. Shocking really the people calling her vile for stalking him are the ones just as bad as they’re now stalking her and issuing death threats

4. If the show doesn’t reveal her real name, going to the papers to complain about the show that’s written about you is a bit of a stupid move, you doxxed yourself.

   A small number of people have figured out it’s about me and are giving me shit, better tell everyone that it’s about me, that’ll stop the harassment.

5. Hate to link to the dreaded Mail, but Real Martha has form for this. She was issued a restraining order for stalking the family of a solicitor who fired her one week after putting her on a training scheme. Real Martha went on to stalk the solicitor, her husband and their disabled child, as well as coworkers at the solicitor’s office:

6. I know she did something really bad, but is anyone else not really comfortable with the fact she gets outed but the rapist gets full protection?

7. I’ve got loads of thoughts on this:

   * The shows is a fascinating watch and some of the best TV I’ve seen. You could really feel the horror of his life and how his experiences were impacting him
   * The show does an awful job of hiding her true identity and it is obvious that it would emerge. His claim they went to significant lengths to hide it are clearly nonsense
   * People trying to ‘punish’ the real Martha or try to ‘show her how it feels’ and completely in the wrong. There is no good reason for anyone to try and get into contact with her – including people sympathetic to her side of events
   * The irl Martha is clearly extremely mentally unwell and delusional – people contacting her are feeding into her delusions. This show will be harmful to any recovery she has undertaken in recent years
   * There are TikToks with millions of views dedicated to discovery every detail about this severely mentally ill woman – this extends to recording her in person. This feels like modern day bear baiting to me and I find it disgusting
   * Surely Netflix have some responsibility to avoid this – I feel extremely uncomfortable about the reaction to the show which was always inevitable. I really hope she gets significant help in responding to her new found ‘fame’. She doesn’t have the capability to do it on her own
   * I think this is obviously going to end awfully one way or another and I don’t think it had to. They should have changed more.

10. God I’m so glad I skipped this show. The combination of idiot Internet sleuths and Netflix is truly toxic, no matter what the crimes are. It’s sickening. It’s all about ego. I started watching that one about killing cats and I couldn’t watch it for more than 10 minutes. The egotistical and moronic ‘sleuths’ in that made for nauseating viewing and I’ve avoided everything since. Netflix true crime is truly eating itself and I hope the genre dies a quick death.
    Voyeurism, hubris and little else.

    But also, she ruined his fucking life! Least she could do is let him make a few quid out of it and stay quiet.

12. I really don’t get what people get out of identifying, doxxing and harassing this woman. What’s it got to do with them? It’s between her, Gadd, his friends/family and presumably the police. Same for the people sticking up for her. These are real people ffs and this woman’s clearly pretty unwell.
