  1. Let’s review. The G7 members are: Canada, the US, France, Germany, Italy, Japan and the UK.

    * Canada: Nine operational plants scheduled to phase out by 2030.
    * US: Lots and lots of coal plants
    * France: Just four coal plants scheduled to phase out by 2030.
    * Germany: 43 operational coal plants, scheduled to phase out by 2030.
    * Italy: Six plants, phase out scheduled for next year.
    * Japan: Has 17 operational coal plants with two plants closing next year but no hard phase out date.
    * UK: Already closing last coal plant.

Hardly ambitious when most of these members states are already looking at 2025-2030. It’s just Japan and US which could be a problem.
