  1. Right after desanctioning russian banks to pay for, amongst other things, uranium?

    >(b) For the purposes of this general license, the term “related to energy” means the
extraction, production, refinement, liquefaction, gasification, regasification, conversion,
enrichment, fabrication, transport, or purchase of petroleum, including crude oil, lease
condensates, unfinished oils, natural gas liquids, petroleum products, natural gas, or other
products capable of producing energy, such as coal, wood, or agricultural products used to
manufacture biofuels, or uranium in any form, as well as the development, production,
    2
generation, transmission, or exchange of power, through any means, including nuclear, thermal,
    and renewable energy sources.

Either that’s a “right hand vs left hand” situation, or there’s going to be hella loophole in that “import ban”…

    >The Prohibiting Russian Uranium Imports Act, approved by unanimous consent, would bar U.S. imports 90 days after enactment ***while allowing temporary waivers until January 2028.***

… Ah yeah, there the loophole is!

  2. A significant move in response to geopolitical tensions. Let’s hope it leads to positive outcomes.

  3. Can someone explain the implications from this and what the op means by desanctioning russian banks? I hadn’t heard that for some reason.
