How can an MP justify spending around 3x their wages on expenses?
If it really costs that much to be an MP. Why not just increase the salary by 50% and scrap expenses altogether? That way it would be more transparent, save us a lot more money and just be more *fair*…
Oh yeah, no. We can’t have that.
MPs should be on minimum wage with expenses that are “you can spend max X amount on this and you can only claim for Y amount of those”
E.g. you can have maximum 2 staff members and you can’t pay them more than ….
fucking hell I go over my £500 per year study budget ( which doesn’t include exams) as a junior Doctor and I get angry emails straight away wtf. Let the Band 8 nurses sort out their budgeting.
