Peston: Why the Met Police probe of partygate is terrible for Boris Johnson

  1. It’s a set up. He would be out by end of this week if Sue Gray report was published. Now they will want everyone to wait for the end of police investigation. Can kicking excercise.

  2. Why couldn’t the Met and Dick of the yard wait until after Gray had published her report, if she has uncovered evidence of wrong doing they could act after it was published.

Now this will go away for at least a year and the public forget.

    Which is the intention.

  3. >It is therefore hard to assess how long this extended detective process will take.

    >In the meantime, the prime minister’s best hope is that public anger will fade as the weeks pass, and other issues come to the fore.

That’s what this is about. Anyone care to take bets on this being collusion between Cressida Dick and #10?

  4. Wasn’t the a met police investigation report that reviled that 9/10 toilet seats in the house of commons have traces of cocaine? What ever happened to that?

  5. The UK economy is finally coming out of the pandemic so all Boris needs to do is hunker down for a month or two and he’ll be scott free. Isn’t the reason these revelations came out now to not let Boris have the glory of bringing the country out of the pandemic? How the man hasn’t been removed is simply beyond me.
