There was an attempt to make Northern Ireland larger

  1. I worked on this show, and one of the toughest gigs I’ve ever been on for a very pleasant reason. Normally working on a comedy you get a sense of what’s coming up from the script so you can be somewhat prepared for what’s gonna happen… SBP had a pretty fast/loose improvisational nature… They had scripts but always allowed for some of the more talented improvisers in the cast to mess about and chance some stuff. I remember sitting in a room in the office set in Belfast, a small office so any noise made on set would be picked up by the boom mic. Remember in school when something funny happened but if you laughed you’d get a bollocking, which automatically made whatever had happened 10 times funnier?… That but on steroids. Neil Delamer was riffing away and honestly we were fucking dying trying not to laugh and ruin the take to the point my ribs were sore at the end of the day… Remember the “Biggus Dikkus” scene from The Holy Grail? The crew were pretty much the guards in that. One of my first jobs in the industry and great starter. Some craic.
