Climate change: From Myanmar to the Philippines, heatwave scorches parts of Asia • FRANCE 24
good afternoon mercury levels are
soaring and I’m in Delhi where the
temperature is actually not too bad
today it’s about 34 uh degrees Celsius
it is expected to go up to 41 later this
week but many parts of the country are
reeling under a heat wave and the Met
department has issued a red alert saying
conditions will continue for at least
another 5 days now April has been hotter
than usual and the worst affected areas
in the country are actually all the way
in the south of India and along the east
coast and in some places temperatures
are as high as as 46 de C now worring
Trend that has emerged is that many of
the places that are affected are not
places that are usually that usually see
such high temperatures I mean cities
like Mumbai uh temperatures are at least
5° C higher than normal in some parts of
the state of Bengal temperatures are 10°
celus higher than normal then there is
some worrying reports coming from what’s
happening in the Indian oceans a new
study suggests that the Indian Ocean
might be heading for a near permanent U
heat like Heatwave like situation which
means that the many coastal areas of
about of dozens of countries that are
near the ocean could experience uh more
intense and more frequent U uh natural
hazards like Cyclones so what about the
government then uh p is there anything
the governments can do there to try and
ease the
situation well there are growing
concerns about the health and economic
impact of this Heatwave now the
government did hold a meeting a few
weeks ago and focused on preparing
health centers with medication and and
health workers and also to focus on
awareness programs but experts point out
that this does I mean this addresses the
situation at hand short term but does
little to address the larger long-term
issues that heat waves like what we’re
seeing uh cause and remember uh this has
now become an annual Affair one of the
top concern concerning areas is um
agriculture you know agriculture employs
more than half of India’s workers and
there are concerns that uh the heat
waves and and other changing whe the
patterns have changed agriculture
patterns the other concern is about
people who have to work in these
situations you know people who work in
say construction sites and what
complicates this is that many of these
people are daily wage earners so if they
don’t work they don’t eat and they don’t
earn and their families don’t eat that
way uh of course now this situation is
uh coming you know we’re in the middle
of a multi-week election in India uh
India has held two phases of polling and
voter turnout has dropped when it when
you compare it to the last general
elections and there are H concerns that
part of this could be because it’s just
too hot to come out and vote pavy thanks
very much pavy Mel joining us they’re
live from New Delhi
Large swaths of Asia are sweltering through a heatwave that has topped temperature records from Myanmar to the Philippines and forced millions of children to stay home from school. Scientists warn that extreme heat will become more frequent and intense because of human-induced climate change. FRANCE 24’s Pavni Mittal reports from New Delhi, India.

My only question is when is it predict to end? Experiencing it, we all know it is hell's free trial. Just want to know when the trial end.
buy Chinese solar photovoltaics and deploy offshore solar power plants in order to cool down seawater temperature.
I am from Srilanaka where situation is same. This season is very hot and can not go outside.
I’m concerned about food, water and energy. As it gets hotter, plants need more water yet soils and rivers dry up. As ag production and water supplies go down, less food will be produced. Even a 10% rise in food prices can start famines, destabilize governments and cause civil and other wars. Rivers and energy supplies cross national boundaries. And human populations in India and other countries are still rising rapidly. How much of a rise in food prices will it take to tank Indian economic growth? What food price rise level will cause civil collapse and conflict? What level of decline in water availability will lead to war with China and Pakistan?
The countries mentioned in the title have nothing to do with the report, lol! This report is all about India so please just stop the awful clickbaits!😡
60% population control is ahead. Be alarmed be prepared to graciously leave rather in vain 😮
