Notice how many IDs are valid for older people, and how few options there are for young people. Just in case you didn’t know already that voter ID is a Tory attempt to manipulate the vote.

  1. I’m a lefty and dislike the Tory party as much as the next guy but surely this is a shitpost…

There are more acceptable forms of voter ID for old people …because there are more forms of ID for old people.

  2. As an immigrant I’d say that us migrants have even more photo ids than oldies 🙂

I voted first time and very surprised by a few facts:
    – the boxes aren’t transparent
    – there are no watchers in the polling station
    – I have to use pencil to cross a box
    – no cctv cameras / recordings

This opens so many possibilities for election fraud, why is it so outdated and how you can be sure that there’s no fraud?

  3. Far be it from me to not blame something on the Tories, but an 18 year old has access to every single form of ID an 88 year old has, with the exception of something pension related, but even then would have an equivalent in something work or benefits related.

In fact, if you take into account forces ID, even more.

Shit like this gives the left a bad name.

  4. I think the most effective voter suppression measure is just to run candidates that I would never vote for. It’s polling day, my passport is in my jacket pocket (I travel a lot), I’m not working and the polling station is about 200m down the road. Still not voting, because they all make me sick. I honestly don’t care who wins.

  5. Free voter ID if you don’t have a passport / driving licence [https://www.gov.uk/apply-for-photo-id-voter-authority-certificate](https://www.gov.uk/apply-for-photo-id-voter-authority-certificate)

Almost 75% of EU countries do not allow postal voting, in addition to the overwhelming majority requiring ID.

This is long overdue, now the end of mass postal voting is needed to ensure integrity.

  6. With a whopping 13 cases of personation in the 2022 elections – the Govt’s own figures – it is really trying to fit your own balls in your mouth and sing an Aria while doing so to “pretend” this is about Voter-Fraud. The quiet part was shouted through a Download Festival PA that it was about making it less likely for certain age-groups and demographics to actually bother to vote. The Brexshit Apologist in Chief said so to cameras.

The only real element of the system that’s vulnerable to “fraud” is in the postal/proxy vote (Cue the usual suspects mumbling about Tower Hamlets and “certain communities”…..) and this requirement does exactly NOTHING about that.

But please, let’s continue to give Jacob £ucking Pees Smog and his vote-suppressing Ilk the benefit of the doubt……nothing bad ever came of that after all.

  7. To be honest I’ve never came across anyone in my life who didn’t have some form of ID. How do you people get into clubs or buy alcohol? Or buy any age restricted items? See 18 plus films in the cinema? I think people are over hyping this ID thing.

A provisional license is like what, £25?

  8. This is a nonsense post. It’s to stop electoral fraud which is probably more common than you’d imagine. Ironically, I’d be more inclined to believe the problem lies with corrupt left wing councils and other organisations than the Tories.

  9. Im 19 and have epilepsy and in situations where I need ID I am very stuck. I am unable to have a driving or provisional license, I do not have a valid passport, until recently I did not have a credit card.

When I need ID I have to use my credit statement & my bank statement together.

I don’t understand why the government took away ID cards which had your name, photo and d.o.b as a form of ID.
