  1. > Media group said acquisition will help it offer content that appeals to audiences “at every stage of their lives”

  2. I feel like a little piece of me died reading that headline.

  3. Expect advertising for life insurance, stairlifts, bath benches, holidays for silver singles. And downsizing.

  4. RIP.ie will require a annual subscription in 3…2…

  5. Well that explains their 25% subscription price increase this year.

  6. Why does everyone think it will go behind a paywall?

[MyHome.ie](http://MyHome.ie) isn’t behind a paywall. [rip.ie.myhome.ie](http://rip.ie.myhome.ie) [recruitirleland.ie](http://recruitirleland.ie) etc make their money from the people posting notices/ads putting it behind a paywall would make no sense as they’re charging on the basis that the maximum number of people possible will see it.

  7. “You have viewed your 5 free deaths for the week to view more deaths pay only €2 a month and for a limited time get a digital mass card and a free coffee in Costa “

  8. I’m in for some click bait condolences.

RIP your uncle Peter, you’ll never guess who said he was a great colleague!!! Subscribe to find out more.

  9. Perfect opportunity for someone to take matters into their own hands and start Mournhub

  10. “you have viewed 3 deaths this month, subscribe now for unlimited access”

  11. I really don’t think commenters here understand how RiP.ie works. You pay to post… they won’t be putting it behind a paywall, that destroys its usefulness. They make far more money by charging posters and advertising than from charging viewers.

  12. Thats the end of that website. They’ll make a mess of it.

Property supplement will hawk plots in Graveyards.

This fab bijou plot in Mount Jerome will knock you right over.

  13. I couldn’t believe this is actually a thing in Ireland. Why? Oh why!

  14. RIP.IE (Suddenly)

Remembered fondly by aul wans all over the nation.

    House strictly private.

  15. RIP.ie has more hard hitting journalism than the Irish times will ever.. so I can see what they’re at

  16. How the fuck do you ruin RIP.ie. ITG are about to figure out how to

  17. “For low low price of €299.99 you can get all the free Tay and Sambos you want. It’s a good deal, take it”

  18. GDPR only applies to the living. It’s a data mine of great biglyness.

  19. 60 million page views each month? How many bloody funerals are there in Ireland in a year?!

  20. R I P dot I E, just log on and see who’s dead. I always have 123 ad jungle in my head when I think of rip.ie

  21. Some lucrative advertising spots to be had in a business that’ll never go out of fashion

  22. Looking forward to downloading the new rip.ie app. You’ll be able to set up a watch list of still living people and get push notifications as soon as they kick it. Buy a premium account for a bigger watchlist.

Not to mention the social features.
