Hi, I’m currently visiting Latvia and I’m trying to find the best place to eat Latvian food. I’m also trying to find a restaurant that make [Poutine](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Poutine) (the canadian meal).

As a Canadian living in Riga for 4 years, I never found a place that serve poutine.
danish fries from deli snack are kind of similar to poutine.
We don’t like Poutine, it sounds like Putin too much.
It’s good, they have a similar dish in deli snack, no idea how it is called I was wasted when I ordered it, but it does have cheese on it.
Recommending Lido almost feels like karma farming at this point but I honestly thought everything I got from there was delicious. Really cheap too. And it had outside seating, which was needed as the UK covid pass wasn’t being accepted at the time I was out there. Plus they put up with my rubbish attempts at the Latvian language. So, to summarize, Lido.
Lido is OK. But I would suggest “folkklubs ALA pagrabs” in old town Riga. As a Latvian I have never heard of Poutine
Eat local.
Might as well go to Sicily and try to find the best enfrijoladas.
When you get back to Canada, you can try some 🙂
Learn to make poutine yourself and share it with some Latvian friends!
