Labour’s Chris Webb tells Sunak ‘admit you’ve failed’ after huge Blackpool win

I declare that Christopher Paul Webb is duly elected as the Member of Parliament for the Blackpool South constituency the people of Blackpool South have spoken for Britain they have said to Rishi sunak and to the conservatives they’ve had enough it’s a huge privilege to represent the seat that I call home and have been born and Brad in where we’ve not had a local MP for 60 years the circumstances that led to this by election have been well documented I believe many people in Blackpool have been left with little faith in politicians because of the behavior of others to them I say I’m humbled by your support that every ward in this town voted for me change is what people want and up and down the country labor is the party they’re looking for to deliver it Blackpool South has said that loud and clear tonight the message to the prime min minister is that we need the general election sooner the better people no longer trust the conservatives prime minister do the decent thing admit you failed and call a general election

Labour has won the Blackpool South byelection, marking the third biggest swing from the Conservatives to the party in postwar history. The Labour leader, Keir Starmer, hailed the result as ‘seismic’, in a night of local elections that provided further evidence that his party is heading for a large majority at this year’s general election. Chris Webb, a local and firm favourite, won Blackpool South with 10,825 votes, followed by David Jones, the Conservative candidate, with a distant 3,218 votes. Labour’s victory is the latest sign that the party is winning again in leave-voting areas it lost to Boris Johnson’s Conservatives in 2019, with the party gaining control of the councils in Rushmoor, Thurrock and Hartlepool

  2. How ironic ~ a failed Labour Party telling the Tories they have failed ~ they have both failed. The only party I will vote for now is Reform.
