Prosecutors arrest two former German military personnel on terrorism charges

  1. I expected these guys to have far worse motives besides “end a brutal sectarian civil war.”

*The two men wanted to deploy the unit to carry out combat operations in the ongoing civil war in Yemen with the aim of “pacifying” the region and forcing Houthi rebels and the Yemeni government to negotiate*

  2. From what we know so far it seems that they tried to found a PMC and get their startup money from Saudi in exchange for taking care of Yemen. They apparently went about it in such a stupid way that they not only got ignored hard by Saudi-Arabia, but also got into the focus of German authorities, leading to these terrorism charges.

  3. > (they) had been primarily motivated by an expected monthly payment of around €40,000 ($46,560) to each member of the unit.

    👀👀👀

  4. >identified according to German privacy laws only as Arend-Adolf G. and Achim A.

What is it with dudes named Adolf…
