Tories have won council by-elections in Hillingdon and Wandsworth, while Labour’s vote share dropped. But surely the polls for the Mayor vote could not have been so wrong that the Conservative candidate will actually become win?

  1. It’s not about ULEZ its about Extended ULEZ.

He asked people’s opinions and ignored the result.
He got Imperial College to research the effect and ignored that.
He refused to listen at every stage.

People still not happy <shocked pikachu face >

  2. As lifelong labour voters, I convinced my parents to vote elsewhere for the first time ever. Good riddance

  3. I’m hoping there’s a difference between which party do you want to run your council and which individual to you want to be the Mayor and that people will reject Hall’s politics overall, rather than just her ULEZ stance.

  4. ULEZ is definitley still a huge problem in areas I think. I work in Uxbridge in an office full of locals. No one likes Khan or the Tories but many voting for Susan Hall as a tactcial anyone but Khan vote.

Also spoke to two people today who said they held their nose and voted Susan Hall.

  5. Shock horror the yuppies on Reddit London aren’t in touch with the common man

  6. Rumours of a big Hindu turnout for Susan Hall. Very car-centric culture. Anti-bike lanes (cyclists considered to be poverty transport), and solid deployment of Modi-aligned activists who might carry Bob Blackman over the line even with a Tory rout outside London at a GE.
