Save our Great China from this Baltic trade office naming conspiracy!
Lithuania repeatedly pushes around China nowadays.
Surprised this is gaining so little traction – it seems like fairly big news?
Really glad to see the EU stepping in to support Lithuania here, finally. I was admittedly worried that they’d just let China steamroll them.
> The European Union said Thursday it has launched action against China at world trade’s governing body for engaging in discriminatory practices against Lithuania, saying that **Beijing’s spat with the Baltic country is hitting other EU exports**.
I believe that was the intention, to hit other EU countries. I believe they banned all exports where even a part of the product is from Lithuania.
> “The EU is determined to act as one and act fast against measures in breach of WTO rules, which threaten the integrity of our single market. We are in parallel pursuing our diplomatic efforts to deescalate the situation,” he said in a statement.
I mean the EU has to act as one when it comes to trade, right? Countries give up bilateral negotiations of trade when they enter the EU.
Finally, some good news.
Finally. Kind of stupid for such an export-oriented country like China to undermine their own trade like that.
Now this I like. Slow, patient, to the point. Now were talking.
Is Germany obstructing it?
Who wants to bet China will simply leave WTO if it loses?
