  1. Don’t buy cloths that you don’t need, and wear what you buy into the ground, then cut it into rags for household use. Sure there are items like designer jeans and formal wear that have second hand value, but no one wants old yoga pants or pjs.

  2. A climate friendly way to get rid of worn out clothes is to seek out steel box clothing recycle bins. If distance isn’t an issue to drop off in boxes or bags at the Goodwill in my experience, whether they’re open or closed.
    There’s 4 foot cubes of clothes going from one developed country to an underdeveloped country for resale and it’s common for clothing manufacturers to burn excess clothes, especially high end clothiers. National Public Radio in the United States has posted an article/radio special on this involving Burberry burning their purses 👜 years ago. On the bright side, the moving fabric with commercial moving companies is recycled jeans 👖?!
