1. It’s sort of funny how for years there were rumours about her behaviour and how unwell she was mentally, and then those rumours about her vegas dancers and that sort of all went away when she was being medicated, and now it’s back.

   Obviously the conservatorship she was in was manipulative, but I doubt the answer is total freedom

3. There are people out there with severe mental health issues that don’t have a conservatorship. And, no, not all of them are living lives as saints, either. Let the woman live her life.

7. This is so blatantly a plant from her family, they want to exploit her for her money so bad. Britney needs mental health services, but not with her family in charge of her and not be forcibly stripped of her rights in order to receive said services.

8. People get to be self-destructive if they choose to be. Of course Britney is fucked up – she was horribly abused and exploited from a young age. But she’s entitled to live her life as she pleases. She doesn’t need to be under someone else’s control. I’m sure this will all end tragically, but millions of people live chaotic, tragic lives and aren’t put in a conservatorship. If Britney had been poor, no one would have even bothered.

9. The real question is will conservatorship help or hurt her? She is clearly unwell so what’s best for Britney should be the main focus. I haven’t paid any attention to her since I was in 6 grade with a crush. So tell me Reddit sincerely what was bad about her conservatorship? Did her parents abuse it? How do we know that? If they were abusing her then she shouldn’t have to go back to that but she clearly needs help and can’t be “free” if she’s mentally ill too. Is there a third option we’re not thinking of?

10. Her family is pathetic. I’m sure she had issues when she was starting out but since she was the breadwinner and supported all of them, they chose to ignore her problems so they could live off of her fame. They made sure that they kept control of her money and got a judge to accept the fact that she couldn’t take care of herself. I doubt any of them have worked a day in their lives thanks to her. I hope she gets the help she needs and stays away from those users.

    The conservatorship was always a bad thing, now we’re seeing what happens to people after.

    There are many male centi-millionaires and billionaires that gambled away their entire personal/family fortunes in Vegas and Macau.

    Nobody said shit to them, much less put them into conservatorship.
