Estonia proposes to blockade the Baltic Sea for Russia

1. Technically it would be pretty easy to mine the Gulf of Finland, but I suppose this is not a proposal to actually do it now, but a proposal to prepare for that should it be necessary later. Doing it now would most likely be an act of war.

2. For EU, it’s easy to check vessels going to and from Russia for banned goods passing through their waters. Do a 100% search. As this is basically anything, shipping will be grinded to a halt.

6. It comes down to Sweden and Denmark to require proper insurance for larger ships entering the Baltic Sea. But nothing will be done before the american election. The oil price will skyrocket

10. Why bother blockading a relatively wide stretch of sea around Estonia when their are some ready made narrow channels around Denmark. A couple of strategically placed subs could do the job.

    Unless they’re wanting to try and isolate Kaliningrad from the motherland too.
