interesting as the WW1 germans beat the Russians but the Napoleonic French did not ( well unless you count Napoleon III) but no one ever means that Napoleon.
Cute)
Sad
But we would have been called as nazis/two times loser, if we were advocating for campaign against russia. It’s a losing game for us on either ways. So WHATEVER, keep making fun of
This circlejerk about a fictitious Molotov-ribbentrop 2.0 is laughable.
Who actually gives a shit about nuance and the actual positions and statements of the german government amirite?
Nice propaganda you have here
Oh yeah, remember all those times EU attacked all those independent countries in recent years, and annexed parts of their territory?
Cause I don’t.
Russia, on the other hand…
That fingerhorse is unsettling. It will be in my next night-mare 🐴
Am I the only one who thinks this cartoon is not anti-german?
It’s a caricature that of course exaggerates.
I find it far more curious that the caricature suggests the EU is pretty much just made up of France and Germany. That’s somewhat in line with recent actions, as the focus was always on Germany if several countries opposed something: for example when Estonia wanted to send weapons to Ukraine with Finland and Germany both not giving any approval so far, but everyone criticized Germany for it or for example with the SWIFT sanctions, which were opposed by multiple EU countries.
Sure Germany may hold a more significant position due to the size (population and economy), but after all it’s been shown multiple times that it certainly doesn’t have massive sway, if others truly oppose something (compare nuclear). France and Germany both want sanctions on Poland and Hungary, yet getting to that point took ages and required a new mechanism, which is a lot weaker than removing voting rights.
While France may be more militant on the issue then Germany, I think all continental west Europeans are similarly soft.
Funny thing, most countries helping Ukraine now are outside of EU.
I don’t get it. why would Napoleon start a new campaign, shouldn’t he have learned that this is a bad idea. and why is the WWI German soldier presented as if he has some deep experience and knowledge why would it become a mistake if he actually won his war against Russia.
You realize this is supposed to be pro-German comic? Germany trying to stop EU-Napoleon before the disastrous campaign in Russia.
Not sure where the problem is.
Russia wants to restore the Soviet Union and the US said: not on my watch.
Now NATO members are voluntarily joining in for some actions.
No one is required to join this war, beside, it looks like a fun activity, so we have enough volunteers to kick Russia in the balls.
It sucks for Ukraine, as it looks like it is the only person in this party that is forced to be here.
Guys you know what the germans think of winter and Russia are realy suprised about this
I am curious how students will interpret/analyse cartoons like this in ~40 years.
Basicly Germany is in a really bad situation. NordStream 2 is basicly the only real leverage the West has against Russia. I do not think NATO/EU is going to war with Russia over NATO.
Basicly Putin wants NS2 and Ukraine. If Russia invades NS2 will basicly be canceled, USA is going to make sure that happens. If however Germany cancels NS2 now, Russia looses not as much and can invade Ukraine.
So the best thing Germany can do in this bad situation is to play for time. This is helping Ukraine way more then any weapons from Germany, as that basicly means NS2 is dead and Russia has nothing to loose. This way Ukraine gets weapons from other countries and training and so on, making the invasion more expensive for Russia. The other part is winter is ending. Most gas is used for heating and we do have a shared EU gas market. So end of winter means everybody can fill up their gas tanks and prepare for the next winter, which gives everybody nearly a year, that is including Ukraine most likely(again more weapons and training).
This is imho how Germany plays its bad hand the best.
Best outcome however is Russia just plays war within Russia and does not take more land from Ukraine. Lets all hope that happens.
I have a question. What the heck is Germany doing rn? It just looks super slim shady and as a Pole I prefer to have a place to escape that is not under Russian influence…
Nobody wants to be Russia’s neighbor if Germany wants it can’t “trade spaces” with Ukraine.
Greedy Germans
I don’t understand fingerhorse but it seems like it’s saying ‘no no no’ like to a child
