Support your children if they are gay, Pope tells parents

  1. Hope he’s not talking of the usual “support” that Christians give to the groups they hate. Christians “support” their enemies by doing everything in their power to make their life miserable.

  2. > Last year, the Vatican’s doctrinal office issued a document saying that Catholic priests cannot bless same-sex unions, a ruling that greatly disappointed gay Catholics.

    > The Church teaches that gays should be treated with respect and that, while same-sex acts are sinful, same-sex tendencies are not.

So it’s mostly just an attempt to portray the status quo in a more positive way, minor actual improvements, but no change to the questionable underlying dogma. To me it sounds roughly like: “It’s okay if you are gay, but if you have sex with another man you’ll go to hell.”

  3. Reminder: The pope does not support marriage equality and women are still discriminated against by the church.

  4. Love them, support them, but make them understand that homosexual relationships are a grave sin, and that they must follow a life of celibacy and solitude if they want to save their souls. Ah, also, you cannot be a priest, because you know ‘disordered passions’.

That’s not love, that’s bs. Just some whitewashing to try to disguise the homophobia whithen the Church.

  5. I don’t give a fuck what the pope or any of these religious hustlers say. For centuries, they have been terrorizing, looting, stealing, killing people (like the indigenous kids in Canada)… Do they seriously think that, just because they catch up with the modern world for once, all the evil religion and the church has done will… you know, just vanish?

  6. He says it’s OK to scold you’re kids, humiliating them by calling them gay as an insult kinda how we used to say it as kids in the 90’s as a joke. You are actually supposed to be gay tho, that’s where everyone got confused 🤭😅

  7. Support them against the aggression of the church.

It’s the bible which says that homosexuality is an abomination. This guy should shut up.

  8. Nothing wrong with that, though if we’re talking about actual children, they’re still in their mental development. Young people try on labels as if they’re trying on clothes, be it religion, ideology or even sexuality. If you encourage them as children, they may come to regret it as adults.
