If I saw this in a Warhammer 40K movie I would think this is a tad over the top and corny even for space marines.
Well well. Think about it. If this is a motivational peptalk – and it works – then these men are not to be taken lightly as opponents. I say this as an infantry and reconnaissance soldier with three wars and more than forty years of service under my belt. Never disrespect or under estimate your opponent…..
I can’t imagine standing there about to go on a assault and my commander literally is like “yea we’re all gonna die lol”
After they lose this war imagine how depressing all these plaques and billboards on every crumbling wall will get as they slowly rust and fade, get covered with graffiti, and everyone just ignores them.
The school desks with faces of “heroes” becoming more and more scratched and doodled on and gum covered until you can barely make out their appearance, and one day the desk and the hero is just carried to some dump.
In other words their mothers will get a postcard and a chupa chup…

Look at the effort Anglo-American nations put into finding, identifying, burying, and memorializing war dead from 1914-18 and 1939-45.
Then, compare that to private Russian NGOs in the 2000s still recovering thousands of 41-45 Russian war dead left unburied where they died. The Soviets didn’t, and Russians still don’t give a shit.
In 1945-1950, the Anglo-Americans sent teams into the Soviet Zone of Germany to recover their war dead. The Soviet occupiers thought they must be spying because they could not believe anybody would go to so much trouble over dead soldiers.
