Germany we raised you better than this.
Germany is a joke, but — being German — not a very funny one.
Thanks Germany, its great to know you value your russian and chinese partners more than European ones.
It just baffles me, why are you in the European union if you could just establish an union with your best friends?
Germany likes to defend China *and* Russia. Charlatans!
Hmm.. Blocking weapons for Ukraine now this I hope “never again” still stands..
Germany: Ah fuck, we might actually be doing something. Better fix that, we can’t have murderous authoritarians think we actually care about values over money.
+10.000.000 Social Credits goes to Germany! 🇨🇳🇨🇳🇨🇳
Man wtf.
From a Canadian perspective, it looks an awful lot like Germany spent decades building its trust and respect as the leader of Europe, and is blowing it all in a month right before our eyes.
Not looking like a leader.
Annalaena has a pair at least
Euro Federalists in shambles
Germany sucking both Russia’s and China’s dicks…. everything is falling apart now that Merkel is gone.
Gonna have to look to Macron to lead the Union sigh what a disaster.
A whole lot of anonymous sources and “some say…”
I wonder how Germans feel with all this anti German sentiment in this sub
Edit: Of course it’s fucking American Politico again with shit stirring
> ‘one of the officials told Politico.’
yeah right I’m just gonna believe you
…and here we go again….
I really like how the actions of Schröder 2.0 seem to be taken as Gospel for the continued direction of german foreign policy.
Especially by Americans.
In any event, about time the Brits got some relief on this sub – bring on the mindless bashing, sans nuance.
Edit, and here they come. Politico.eu is owned by Axel Springer, the german equivalent of Newscorp and the likes. But by all means, continue relying on professional stirrers of shit.
not that i condone any kind of CCP bootlicking, but its easy to cry about this when your country isnt having billion deals with china every year. ultimately i would like to see a strong stance against it but i wouldnt want a big trade war just because one country has a personal feud with china.
also the article from Lithunia itself, quoting politico:
> according to EU officials and diplomats quoted by Politico reporters.
anyone who doesnt realize that the US media is currently, for weeks now, spinning a huge anti-german campaign to pressure the german government into switching from russian to american gas is naive as fuck. the article couldnt be more vague with no details at all. convenient.
Have you tried to buy some legendary quality German stuff? Usually you buy something, on the box there is in huge print “Manufacturer: Ecotechnic GMBH, Kiel, Somethingstrasse 687” and in microscopic print under this is “Made in China”.
Germany is ashamed of their authoritarian past, yet supports the country that has concentration camps and an authoritarian regime
So, the shitstorm in the comments is guaranteed…
Honestly, it’s not the best time to discuss this issue and stir up emotions about DE – stuff in Ukraine is much more important now
Germany is a weak link for democracy
Since blind nationalism compels people to whine about Germany again: What is gained by starting a kerfuffle about naming conventions in Taiwan? Absolutely nothing. Germany values money and stabiltiy more than empty gestures and so should you.
Never rated Germany. Though they deserve millions of social credit scores & bing chillings
Germany in practice is the ally of Russia and China more than any European country.
All jokes aside, what is wrong with Germany? Why do they act like this?
Germany at it again with bending over for authoritarian regimes. Spineless country that has made itself too dependent on those two countries.

i wont go for a godwin point but come on Germany.. stick with your europeans bro, dont let Xi tear us apart.
Do EU redditors really want to start a **trade war with China** over Lithuania making a mistake?
First Erdogan, then Putin, now China; clearly Germany has a soft spot for dictators.
I once again must urge everyone to please read more than just the headline and try to verify your information. Politico was recently acquired by the Axel Springer publisher, the same publisher that owns Germany’s most notorious tabloid Bild. At the same time, the info is based on nothing more than a paraphrased quote, by an anonymous, unnamed source, that simply says that Scholz is calling people and wants to tone down pressure on China. This info is the news equivalent of housewife gossip.
“Officials said…”. Who? When? In what context? … is there a source for any of this?
The article sounds like thin air propaganda with no substance at all.
Germany is literally the most pathetic and contemptible country in Europe right now from a political perspective. Russian and Chinese puppets if you ask me.
Utterly disgusting if true.
Ah Germany, always on the wrong side of everything.
Not France this time. Can’t fill Merkel’s shoes
I sense a pattern emerging…
Ah yes. It’s all Germany’s fault once again. That’s why just 41 out of 700+ MEPs signed a letter to condemn China recently.
Seriously, what the fuck is up lately with the anti-German propaganda? It doesn’t matter how baseless a claim is, Germany is blamed. If multiple states have a certain viewpoint and Germany is among them, Germany is the only one to get mentioned and blamed. From SWIFT sanctions over opposition to nuclear in the taxonomy, sending weapons or now being unwilling to push for a tougher line on China.
The simple truth is that sadly ethics and morals rarely impact politics. Tons of people have been arguing for a “realist approach” to issues like refugees / migrants and this has largely prevailed. Yet it’s the same here. From a moral standpoint, the EU should absolutely stand with Taiwan/Lithuania and push back against China – yet tons of countries trade with China and such an action wouldn’t be in their own interest, it would likely push them into opposition at the next election.
Ok, I’ve had enough of this shit.
I say we trade Germany for Mongolia. That way Germany will be between their best friends, Russia and China, and we get someone with a better record in world wars.

I mean, you do you, it’s going to hurt though
Why do we allow China to bully our allies ?
Audi & BMW get 35% of their revenues from the China market [(Source)](https://asia.nikkei.com/Business/Automobiles/Mercedes-Audi-and-BMW-driven-deeper-into-China-by-pandemic). The idea that Germany is going throw their crown jewels under the proverbial bus because Lithuania started a fight on behalf of the US is nonsensical.
Germany has no morals.
