We don’t have to rethink it. Insurance companies are already saying, no you’re not going to rebuild there and expect us to insure it. Which basically means, no bank loans.
You’re still free to burn your own money. But you’re getting no help the next time around.
It’s just a form of the pervasive denial. Giving up on living where they did would mean they would have to admit that their home is now lost to climate change
