  1. Give him and his wife a fair trial. If they’re found guilty, give them appropriate sentences.

See how easy that is? Republicans should try having actual principles instead of situational and selective outrage. Who knows? They might actually like being morally consistent for a change.

  2. If they are found guilty MAXIMUM term. He took the faith, trust and goodwill of his constituents so he could commit crimes.

  3. Regardless of D or R in front of the name, I hope they go to jail for this.

  4. Pfft, those are rookie numbers. Anything less than a million is not worth going to jail for.

  5. Lock ’em up!

^((Assuming they’re found guilty after a fair trial, of course.))

  6. Remember when Nancy Pelosi went out of her way to push him over the line to barely defeat a progressive challenger?

  7. How do politicians still fuck this up? Call it lobbying and you’re in the clear!

  8. His real crime is not knowing he needs to be republican to get away with it. It’s a type of common sense known as the “Frankensense.”

  9. The Washington monument would be a great resting place for such people

  10. Supreme Court justices say it’s cool to cheat Americans

  11. Just like NHL playoffs the referee are bought like supreme courts like congreesmen

  12. Shame on voters for choosing him over Jessica Cisneros. She would never do such a thing. This was known for years.

  13. How dumb do you have to be to accept straight up bribes as a Congress person. Just take PAC money, always get reelected, and insider trade like the rest of them do.

  14. Moron. Why didn’t he just do what all the other Politicians do and have the bribe “donated” to their super pac.

    Also…what about Clarence Thomas

  15. At least he got a lot in bribes. Some of these other politicians get bought for way less

  16. He better not pull a Menendez by not resigning or try to run for re-election as an independent if someone is gonna run a primary challenge against him.

  17. Here’ the thing…. I don’t care if he’s a democrat, republican or works for the dark side…. If he is guilty, nail him to the proverbial cross for all to see.

  18. Full investigation, followed by a fair trial, and if they are found guilty, give them the sentence they deserve.

    That’s how it’s done, Republicans.

  19. “The actions I took in Congress were consistent with the actions of many of my colleagues”

  20. Sheesh it’s why ya can’t trust either party!

  21. It’s amazing how cheaply democracy is sold for.

Obviously $600,000 is way more than most Americans can fathom having but when you stop to think there’s only a bit over 500 of these guys and billionaires exist you start to realize there’s a big problem.

  22. I take this to be separate from the other type of bribes a.k.a. campaign contributions. The real scandal is what is legal.
