IMHO, it is a stupid practice but point fingers in the right direction.
I get why this is a rule, but just write down a “unless a global pandemic” and declare we are in said pandemic.
What about prices? Are most of them offering said flights at discount prices?
Given how hard Brussels is pushing green initiatives these days, I find it baffling that there is no regulation for cancelling flights below XX% capacity. Eating insects, turning down thermostats, buying thrift shop clothes… kind of rings hollow when there are companies being allowed to burn hundreds of gallons of fuel and emit tonnes of CO2 flying empty flights.
Austria made a exception during covid so they dont have to do that. Cant be that hard to do.
They should just auction them off every quarter. No more slot squatting.
Similar news have been posted a couple of times already, this is not really news
One more (although not new) proof that obeying stupid or just straight bad rules is easier than start doing something about them

I’m so glad I washed out that jam jar for my recycling /s
Seriously, if this is what we’re doing on a commercial level in the western world we’re fucked in reducing our carbon emissions.
I heard about this the other day in the news, it’s just bizarre lol 😀

He is a fucking idiot. This is mandated by IATA. FAA/US mandates 80%, whether EASA/EU temporary has lowered it to 64%.
Are these brainiacs literate?
