On this day in 1934, Hitler signs a treaty of non-aggression with Poland. Under the terms of the pact, both powers agree not to launch military hostilities against one another for a period of 10 years. In 1939, Germany invades Poland.

From the time that Hitler came to power, his unswerving aims were to overthrow the peace settlement of 1919 and to establish German hegemony in Europe.
These aims, however, had to be disguised until German rearmament had made progress, and Hitler showed great skill in soothing the anxieties of the other powers with his constant talk of peace.
The nonaggression pact with Poland, signed on 26 January 1934, was used by Hitler as further evidence of his eagerness for peace.
So that’s why Hitler hated Jewish bankers – he was really shit at math!
I already had a couple of reasons not to like him and now you tell me he was a liar as well.
Poland got the 50% off deal
In 1932 Poland signed Polish-Soviet non agression pact. Im 1934 it was extended to 1945. USSR attacked Poland 17 days after German agression in 1939.
Poland doesn’t have luck when it comes to their neighbour’s trustworthiness
Pranked!
And still they pretend to trust Russia.
You lied to me!
What do you expect? I’m hitler!
Respawn protection
This is wrong, or at best inaccurate.
Poland and Germany didn’t sign any treaty in 1934.
They signed written declaration, not a treaty, and this declaration wasn’t about non-agression, but about not using violence in mutual relations (this concepts are similar, but not identical).
Such declaration is not a treaty in the legal sense, and shouldn’t be confused with it.
