  1. Lmao you have to admire the balls of being a European monarch and going to a former colonial territory to tell them how good it all was

  2. I’m sorry did this asshole just brush off the racist encomienda system, Indian slave labor, African slave labor, the feudalism of New Spain, the Pueblo revolt, and the most brutal revolutionary War in the America’s during the Mexican revolution…

Dude…that’s some real tone deaf, dumb shit there.

Bartolomé de las Casas is spinning in his grave.

  3. The Spanish Model of colonization is why there’s so much strife and unrest in Latin America and l South America. Ever wonder why the Mexican inequality is so bad? Just look at the foundation of the society and the difference between Spanish colonization methods vs the British.

The british used the new world to expel their undesirables but essentially gave them leeway to rule themselves as long as they brought back goods.

The spanish were set on bringing feudalism to the Americas and as such most early Spanish colonizers were Nobles (granted they were typically lower Nobles).

Spanish colonization was damning on the Americas and set back Those countries by ages in comparison to the English ones. Mexico is still plagued with corruption and abuse of power with most of those people tracing their lineage back to Spanish nobility

    Edit: Meant Mexican oof.

  4. Next up Great Britain chiming in with our great they were in developing India and their former possessions from “ Cairo to the Cape”

These guys didn’t know how good they had it
