Slang names of European capitals.

  1. Staden is not slang for the Danish capital but rather for christiania which is an area located within Copenhagen.

Christiania being the Danish infamous drug shopping area.

  2. Fjollträsk basically translates to sissyswamp or pussylake. Used by northerners to mock Stockholmers for being pussies and weak (most often jokingly).

  3. During the 1400’s, The Pale was the area of Dublin and its surroundings that were under English control. It’s where we get the phrase “beyond the Pale” from – everywhere beyond the Pale was ‘uncivilised’

  4. Madriz isn’t slang; it’s just pronunciation. It can also be pronounced Madrí or Madrit.

  5. >Wean

And Nürnberg is Nermberch and London is “Lond’n”. Its just the/a normal local pronounciation, not a “slang name”.

  6. Staden is slang for Fristaden(Christiania) not Copenhagen. At least i’ve never heard anyone call Copenhagen for staden
