The Slovenian side of Gorizia, Nova Gorica, has at least a team, Gorica. It’s interesting
This is very cool- could you do a breakdown by specific providence? That’s something I’ve always wanted to see, but most maps are too cluttered to get any value from it
Impressive!
However due to the absurd nature of the Italian pyramid, a more meaningful map would have only included Serie A to Serie C.
Serie D involves 160-170 clubs, split in 9 regional leagues and is already (pseudo)amatuer football, with clubs bursting onto the scene and disappearing in the span of a few seasons, with no rhyme or reason. NTM the time-honored tradition of bankrupted clubs folding halfway through the season or being excluded at the end of the year.
It’s therefore kinda impressive that a province couldn’t even have one club to be part of such a “generous” league, but as said, that tier is quite random and messy, so the scene can change quite a bit from one year to the next one.
Interesting that such a tiny region as Venice still manages to have 5 soccer teams.
