10 years ago, Giana Erminio gained a historic promotion to Serie C, part of miraculous rise from the 7th tier to 3rd tier in 3 years (C used to be divided between two divisions until their consolidation in 2014, which allowed them to promote straight from 5th tier D to 3rd tier C that year)

  1. Funnily enough, just three years ago, Novara played in Serie A for the 2011-12 season, while Giana Erminio was in the 7th tier Promozione. And three years later, Giana Erminio made a crazy string of promotions to reach Serie C while Novara was also relegated there, so the two teams that are 6 divisions apart just 3 years ago managed to meet in the group A of the inaugural new consolidated Serie C. Unbelievable!

  2. Solo io pensavo che la squadra di Gorgonzola fosse l’Iperzola (che in realtà è di Zola Predosa (BO)?

    E invece la squadra di Gorgonzola (MI) si chiama Giana Erminio, nome prestato dall’Eroe di Guerra Erminio Giana, morto nella Prima Guerra Mondiale, nel 1916
