Russia Continues It’s Attack to Nowhere!

are Russian forces continuing their attack to Nowhere or is this all just part of the Ukrainian plan I’m Paul US Army Combat veteran let’s talk about it so first off let’s take a look at the the Frontline map and the biggest changes you can see here are the exact ones that I told you were going to happen right this is the Ukrainian withdrawal from the Aran heske uh town when you see that this uh sort of En encirclement here uh Ukrainian forces have withdrawn likely they’ve really draw withdrawn uh or in the process of withdrawing through Aran heski across this River here they’re likely using the only road to move some of their heavy equipment and their larger Logistics stores and then once that’s complete you’ll see the final defensive units pass along uh this canal and uh Reservoir system and they’ll likely set up positions on the north side of this area right and we’re seeing exactly that here uh this withdrawal is complete right the final Uh Russian forces now occupying Ultra datina entirely and occupying a large portion of Aran heske uh but again this is not really uh beyond anything we thought uh that the ukrainians were going to do right this is this is in line with just a good practice for Ukrainian forces what I did think was kind of interesting is you can see between berichi and Novo Pro proovy uh this tree line here appears to have been seized by Russian forces right you could see them surging into this wind break and trying to make it halfway across this field here and and I’ll be the first to tell you that it’s pretty unlikely that there’s actually Russian forces sitting here um it’s more likely that Russian forces are occupying maybe this a this tree line here uh these this tree line here this portion of this tree line and the Ukrainian for forces are likely sitting here along this roadway um again we’ve seen abundantly uh in this phase of the conflict that sitting on open ground for any length of time is a really bad idea I much I’m much more inclined to suspect that this is uh Russian forces likely conducting these open ground assaults Ukrainian forces in defensive positions right with some of their support vehicles uh support drones and the like in Novo proov and they are likely just having drones sort of Hit the Russians as they make these uh absolutely eye-wateringly poorly thought out uh open field assaults um that’s what I think we’re seeing here but Russian forces are also making some other moves across the front line uh you could see looking to the South here near umansky uh right remember here’s orka this was kind of the southern end of what for several weeks was the Ukrainian line or leka Seka berichi um you could see that that Russian forces are trying to make some kind of moves here um and you know the only significance is that this little portion here represents kind of the south end of the Ukrainian um defensive lines here right remember they used this River and Reservoir system or canal and Reservoir system here uh as their original defensive line and while it was penetrated first near sea um they’ve held out for some time here on olivka and it kind of makes sense why right you can see that there is a fair amount of obstacle here right this is hard to cross these sort of big obstacles but again with Russian forces operating in the northern part of north of them uh it’s only a matter of time and it seems like Ukrainian forces again probably as part of a planned withdrawal are beginning to move uh kind of retrograde relative to this at least this Reservoir and Canal system here um so but again you can see the same things I do which is that this is other than being on the the other side of this canal there’s not really a tactical Advantage here and and Russia’s got its work cut out for it right it can maybe move along this road towards umansky but beyond that once they’re in umansky where can they even go um they’re going to have to charge across big Open Fields it’s going to be a really tough time uh before they can get to any kind of objective right they can’t just rush up into this water right what are they going to do go for a swim uh they could maybe try to recross again go south but it it’s you see how the Russian forces are making gains but it’s not clear to what effect if that makes sense right and that’s kind of the question mark here is that yeah you got to exploit a breakthrough and and sometimes seizing territory is seing territory but not all terrain is created equal in this conflict and empty fields are really not something you want to fight tooth and nail and make big sacrifices for um in fact a lot of people a lot of the cooler heads um including a lot of analysts at the Pentagon uh criticized Ukraine for defending bachet so rigidly right they said listen you cannot spend real lives to defend a symbol which is what Bachman had become um and you certainly don’t want to see Russia spending real lives to take what amounts to nothing right but they will and the ukrainians will happily inflict inflict casualties because remember when you’re the defender it’s much easier to preserve your combat power right it’s the attacker who has to leave their entrenched positions advance in this case across open ground and in the process of course get pretty tore up if any of the leaked videos are to be believed now guys if you have a challenge ahead of you and you’re like man I think I think this is going to tear me to Pieces maybe not literally I hope not uh but you know listen we’ve all had those work days where you wake up your boss that I wanted to discuss is that even isw is sitting there kind of scratching its head when it comes to figuring out what on Earth uh the Russians are doing they say yes even isw concedes yes this breakthrough near Diva has been a notable tactical Advance which I think is lowballing it right like this was a real crisis situation for Ukraine and it’s dismissive to the Ukrainian soldiers that Ukraine poured into this to contain it to call it anything other than a notable tactical Advance right it could have been an operational breakthrough but the ukrainians managed to stop it cold um but the yes the one Russian 132 motor rifle Brigade has in fact raised the flag in Aron heske as we talked about um but while the seizure of Aran heski uh also indicates course russan control of caramic and noo Cova uh which sort of we know the Ukrainian forces again May 3rd two days ago we saw Ukrainian forces withdraw from argane heski so again it’s less about the Russians seizing it and more about the ukrainians realizing that this is not the town they want to fight in right they do not want to fight uh you see they don’t want to fight with this obstacle at their back right because the Russian Artillery can destroy a bridge just as well as ukrainians can and but they don’t want to be is in a situation where they’re fighting in Aran heski and then they find oh no our withdrawal route has been cut off so instead they say listen let’s withdraw on our own terms while this bridge is intact and then blow the bridge behind us very very standard military retrograde operations now the one Russian Mill blogger uh says that uh this seizure of Aran heski was an elaborate flank with Russian forces coming in from Tina and caramic and and this whole thing and it’s it’s all very well and good but as isw points out it’s not really clear what the ultimate objective is Right Russian forces are just exploiting a vulnerability right they are exploiting a place where they think the ukrainians are vulnerable which is again military a sound thing to do but the question is did this come at a cost of a larger Russian effort we’ve talked about the fact that Russian forces are likely to want to seize chivar and if their goal is to do it by the ninth well they took basically all the forces that would otherwise be engaged in chfar and seized these pretty low value Villages uh here Aran heski ultaa collectively everything that Russia seized Before the War I suspect had probably less than 10,000 total residents so these are a series of farming Villages and now that they’ve seized them it’s not clear that it’s opened any of the any doors any routes to larger targets uh uh you can see here when we zoom out right you can see Ultra Tina is a town of note but basically there’s no other noteworthy towns anywhere within the region nothing is nearby you zoom in and you see these are like little farming Villages I mean look there’s not even any buildings that the map shows at losasi it looks like there’s maybe 1 2 3 four roads in Novo leenda these are tiny Villages and Ukraine correctly has identified that these aren’t worth losing your best brigades to try to hold these instead you’re better off just using this as a chance to inflict damage on Russian forces and bleed them out before they can use those same forces to conduct the actual advances on real targets of actual value right you could see a major highway here this would be something Russia would likely aspire to hold again taking CH of Yar would allow them to do that we’ve heard from other intelligence sources that uh Russia may be targeting places like isum kopans and even harv and if if they are instead taking their Elite forces as we’ve seen in previous videos and expending them in Ultra Latina uh you know it’s on the ukrainians to take advantage of this mistake and to inflict the maximum number of casualties uh anyway guys that is all I had for you thank you so much to the colal tier members of
