2. I saw it with my teen kids this weekend- it was awesome!

3. People must *really* hate those other movies!

4. Disney’s destruction of the franchise has turned the prequels into gold.

5. For the people who want the answer: The Phantom Menace grossed $8.1 million, with only The Fall Guy beating it out at $28.5 million.

6. I like those movies but they could remove the horrible awkward no chemistry love collage between padme and anakin.

10. Loved seeing it on the big screen again. Shame there’s no 3D viewing, I remember watching that.

12. Crazy how an almost universally hated movie is doing better than 90% of anything else new

13. Unpopular opinion I’m sure I’ll get roasted for BUT, if you can get over Jar Jar and young Anakin’s often overly goofy dialog, and the stupid midichlorian thing, TPM is honestly one of the best Star Wars movies.
    It has great space actions scenes, it has the ground war scene and lots of other shooting and blaster action, it has some of the best, if not THE best lightsaber battles in the franchise, Darth Maul is fucking sick, the pod racing action is awesome, we see Jedi doing cool shit like force run, Droidekas are cool, and even two and a half decades later, the CGI still looks pretty good, for the most part.
