  1. 2025? Is that not under Biden’s watch?

How many Ukrainian soldiers will die by then?

  2. Let’s wait and see. It’s not really a good idea at the moment, but things may change in 2025.

  3. Maybe they should learn the lesson of not telegraphing their intent even if it’s disinformation. It creates expectations. Better to leave everyone in the dark.

  4. Offensives are so hard in this war. Russia commits so many lives and vehicles etc. and can still only inch forward. I actually think that attacking their refineries, oil depots, infrastructure and ports is more likely to get the Russians out of Ukraine than front line assaults.

  5. This is a slap in the face to every struggling American citizen.

  6. >Sullivan highlighted that the success of this counteroffensive would be contingent upon additional funding, which would need approval from Congress and the White House through new financial assistance packages.

    When’s the next vote?

  7. Offensives, on either side, don’t seem to do jack shit in this war except waste resources and lives.

Perhaps better is to hold the line and pick off crucial targets and infrastructure. Like the refineries they’ve been hitting.

  8. LMAO what, this is completely out of touch from reality. This approved aid is to help us defend ourselves and hopefully solidify the front line, going on offensive looks totally impossible without additional support and shitload of armor, aircraft and ammunition.

  9. Gain air superiority first, please? No one wants a slug fest.

  10. Bomb the fuck out of everything important to russia, just don’t kill civilians.

  11. Please don’t.

Expectations are too high and the general person has no idea how wars work with push and pull and lines moving / not moving.

3:1 is the rough casualty rate for defenders. 3:1 is also how much Russia out numbers Ukraine.

A counter offensive is just going to drain manpower at an accelerated rate as that 3:1 casualty figure moves in russias favour.

Don’t do it. Without total nato style air superiority, It’s not worth the cost.

  12. Never ending bullshit war. The entire population of earth could have been wealthy for the cost of this.

  13. I just feel bad for the ukranian men who were conscripted and have to get themselves killed

  14. Stop talking about it PLEASE. The last time everybody was hyped up about a Ukrainian counteroffensive, it basically failed. Experts were listing many reasons why it did not succeed, but one of the biggest causes was the hype. Russians didn’t even had to gather that much intel. Everything was in the news and the internet so come on. If it’s about to happen, don’t leak classified information such as when is the counteroffersive likely to happen. Their counterattack will only be effective, when the enemy will not suspect too much. I don’t know much about wars, but isn’t that like basic military knowledge? I know Ukrainians have to keep such kind of narrative, that would grant further support from around the world, but this is not a reality show. This is probably the most brutal war of the XXI century.

  15. Ukraine needs to find a way to negotiate a peace at all costs at this point. The idea that they are going to reclaim their eastern territory at this point is delusional, let alone win the war… They are hanging by a thread WITH western funding, it is not long term plausible. Westerners will never be willing to put feet on the ground (understandably) so Ukraine needs to pull the band-aid now. Talk should be about negotiating on unfavorable terms , not counteroffensives.

  16. **NO ZELENSKYY YOU IDIOT JUST TURTLE YOU HAVE A NUMBERS DISADVANTAGE FFS**

  17. There should be peace talks not more war. Endless bloodshed.

  18. They barely have enough guys to play defense. Didn’t they learn from rushing into the last counter offensive?
