  1. Gen V producers:
    >As we continue to navigate the tragic loss of Chance Perdomo, everyone at Gen V is determined to find the best way to pay respect to his memory.

    >We won’t be recasting the role, because no one can replace Chance. Instead, we have been taking the time and space to recraft our Season 2 storylines as we begin production in May.

    >We will honor Chance and his legacy this season.

  2. If you want to pay respect to his memory, then give another young up and coming actor the role. Stop retiring POC roles because the actors tragically die. They would not want that. They would want to see more POC actors getting chances in popular movies and tv shows.

  3. I adored him in Sabrina and now Gen V but idk.., It’s only been one season. I feel like they could have recast the role and it still not dishonor or discredit his legacy.

  4. I don’t understand the recent sentiment that recasting the role of someone who’s died is disrespectful

  5. I’m glad they aren’t recasting. I don’t get why people feel that not recasting the character means no new young actor won’t get a shot, That makes no sense. They can add a new character and cast a new actor in a later season.

I think they also have to kind of think of the cast mates left behind, some may have been close and I think it would have been tough for them just act like nothing happened especially since it was such a tragic unforeseen accident.

He was a unique actor and was perfect for the role. His voice, acting style, demeanor, all of that really made a mark on the roles he played in Gen V and Sabrina.

Give them a chance to grieve and do what’s right all around.

  6. That just makes me wonder if it’s an offscreen death, kidnapping, or general disappearance.

And I feel like something is needed in the void, although maybe not, so do they fill in for him with something like a brother, or what?
