These Sunday Independent polls are always so unreliable.

So Ireland, who forced us to implement a border inside our own country to comply with the good Friday agreement, preventing further Irish terrorism, now want to breach the Good Friday agreement because they don’t want to receive what France is sending?
Staffing 270 roads with checkpoints, let’s say 2 police for each road, with 3 shifts a day, that’s 1,620 Garda of 14,500. At around €60,500 average wage, that’s €98 million a year.
Each road being about 6 feet each minimum (let’s double for pavements and bigger roads), that’s about 2 mile taken up with checkpoints. Now what about the other 308 miles of mostly fields?
ALTERNATIVELY
The deployed 100 Garda is enough, meaning a custom check is possible.

The Republic of Ireland want a hard border with Northern Ireland and yet Sinn Fein is likely going to be the largest party on both sides of the island.
Unionists want union with the European Union.
What a time to be alive.
Cheers lads :/
without offering any moral criticisms one way or the other – is there any actual way this could possibly be implemented?
Only 50?!
Migrants? Not. Stop insulting our intelligence with this politically expedient terminology. Either you have your UK & Shengen visas (and respect the border) or you do not. Asylum?? Well then you cannot play an immigration shopping game of where you want to go. You are defrauding the system and goodwill of host countries. As the saying goes, beggars cannot be choosers.
