Have you seen this man before?? He's the thief who stole my my friend's art. The artwork belongs to Clara Conrish.
This is the man who took off with nearly all of Clara's art Sat 4th May at 6AM in CLAPHAM, South London and she is devastated.
Someone out there will know his face, his clothes, his walk, and someone will have seen him around London no doubt. Most likely in Clapham area, but maybe also the surrounding areas… somewhere in London I am sure. Please do share this post.
If you recognise him, or spot him anywhere, PLEASE CONTACT Clara M Conrish. Or call the police directly on 101. Even if you don't recognise this man, please do share this post on, as one of your contacts might.
He has her art, that she has worked on for years to create and at a complete loss right now. The police won't do much to help so I am doing everything I can to help her get her art back. And I'm relying on this amazing community, both in real life and online, to help me get word out as far as possible. He has some of the most important things to her, in that big box.
We've been on the lookout on Facebook marketplace, eBay, car boot sales, anywhere where they could be sold.
Thank you for any support and again, please share this post if you can

Hope you find this Toe-Rag and get this stuff back.
Post also on nextdoor , it’s good with these sort of stuff as it’s localised. Wishing your happy reunification.
Is this linked to the one with the car the other day?
Artwork is an odd thing for a stranger to steal as it has complicated resale ability and value, I’d guess someone your friend knows had this guy do this
What’s the crime reference number? A bit hard to contact the police without being able to tell them which case you’re calling about.
I’m so sorry. I’m a painter and this would destroy me. I’d suggest posting on nextdoor – if there’s an instagram post detailing the incident as well that would help
I know a guy that would know where the art work would have gone too.
Feel like this is a highly irresponsible post.
This man could be a minority and this could lead to minorities facing more racism and accused of theft. As they already live in a incredibly structurally racist country, they have been through enough
You also don’t know if he was stealing to feed his family.
Should be quite recognisable from the photos, there must be more cctv of him about that day as well, hope they find him
Classic use of benefit sticks
Sorry about the theft, have you or your friend told the shit media? Local papers, mebbies stoop as low as the DM or the Sun?
I don’t have any way to help really but just wanted to say that her art is absolutely amazing. So beautiful. I understand what it is to be the victim of theft and I hope she finds consolation somewhere. Stolen stuff are quite difficult to get back. They caught the ppl that broke into my house but I didn’t get anything back, it’s a very rare occurrence when it happens.
All the best! <3
Can you make a separate comment with your friend’s links to support her work? Amazing stuff, at least hope new people can follow / purchase whatever is left or future pieces, this is so sad
I’ll keep an eye out; as a fellow creative I know how physically & emotionally time consuming it is to build up a body of work like this.
I saw some comments in the other thread regarding this theft and people were saying stuff along the lines of *”In a way, it’s sort of a compliment that he saw your art as being worth enough to steal”*, but I don’t think people really get how devasting an incident like this is; this is more equivalent to a trades person having all their tools stolen overnight because until they can be replaced, their ability to work & earn an income will be greatly negatively affected. Except that unlike tools, exact replacements for these works may not be possible (I don’t know if these were prints or paintings Etc).
Can I ask what the circumstances of this theft was; were these works stolen during a break-in, or were they left outside somewhere and taken by an opportunist? The more details are shared, the more likely someone’s memory will be jogged.
Your friend should absolutely file a proper police report and get a crime reference number. And not just so that this case can stand any chance of being solved, but because it’s also important so that people in general can treat this case as a legitimate & serious incident as opposed to something more cynical like a promotional stunt held by an artist so that their work can get more exposure.
Is this one of those things where the artist is actually the one who stole the artwork and it’s a commentary or capitalism or AI ripping off artists or some bullshit?
What a fucking scumbag. Looks like he’s faking a disability too with those crutches while walking normally. Complete waste of earth.
