  1. My people finally seem to wake up from propaganda overdose. Municipal elections are coming, combined with the election forEU MP seats. The FideSS combined the 2, expecting low interest, then a multiple of scandals shook their support. Magyar Péter was part of the establishment but wanted out for a long time so he presented evidence to how deep corruption runs in the government. Just been to his rally which was the biggest political protest ever been organised in a location not in the capital. Currently his numbers increase so steeply that analysts refrain from predictions. In a few weeks we have a massive rally in the capital, if this trend continues this might attract more than 100k just a day before elections. Meanwhile general elections are 2 years away, a landslide victory in the municipalities would undermine the legitimacy of the fideSS, this could lead to an early elections and pest control, and a lot more cooperative foreign policy.

  2. Based on Péter Magyar’s statements so far, I can predict that he does not support sending weapons to Ukraine either.

On the other hand, it will not prevent the weapons sent by other states from passing through the country, and it will not oppose Ukraine at the EU level either.

He will also break with the current friendship with Putin and Xi, as a supporter of Western democracy.

  3. Wait, this guy’s name literally translates in his native language to “Peter Hungarian,” right? Because if so that’s fucking awesome.

  4. little by little the European politicians are understanding the actual consequences of RU taking any territory of UA, including Crimea. Sadly, UA is paying with lives in the meanwhile.

  5. It’s sad that Hungary needs an “opposition figure”. Functioning democracies don’t have opposition figures. They simply have political parties and candidates.
