Right-wing activist Laurence Fox loses election deposit, again – after getting just 0.005% of votes

1. 0.005%? That number might make sense if you thought everyone in London believes the same as the average Redditor. But we know that isn’t the case. In fact, Fox has quite a large number of supporters. It **has** become clear that Sadiq Khan gets to rule London forever, regardless of how much violent crime spirals out of control, regardless of the fact that 40% of social housing in London is being allocated to people born outside Britain, regardless of his dedication to unpopular policy after unpopular policy. We are aware that these “elections” are basically performative and an exercise in humiliation for the population. However, it is an amateurish move to fudge the numbers beyond what is realistic.

   It’s clear Fox is going to be receiving the Tommy Robinson treatment, wherein he’s repeatedly harassed by the authorities for dubious reasons. They’ll probably deploy some nebulous allegations against him soon too. What gives them away is how feverish and over-the-top they are in the persecution of their political opponents.

   Edit: And there we go. Within 60 seconds of posting, 3 replies all saying exactly the same thing.

   Edit 2: More pouring in by the minute. You’ll notice none of them address any of the facts I mentioned. Not one. It’s not that anything I’ve said about London here is incorrect, it’s that someone had the temerity to say it. Hence the swarm. It’s like an instinct.

   Edit 3: Woah! Yikes! Oof! This blew up. Currently we’re at twice as many downvotes as there are comments or votes on the post in general. It’s pretty much minor variations of the same comment, except now it has degenerated into puerile name-calling etc. Desperately trying to bait a response. If I respond to them, then and only then will the mods do anything. Of course, we know better than to do that, don’t we?

5. His paymaster’s no. 1 goal is for fox and his moronic right wing ideology to get as much media attention as possible. And he’s brilliant at it.

   If he didn’t have family millions and a rich backer, he’d be drinking Special Brew in the park and threatening to fight the ducks because their beaks were the wrong colour.

   It shouldn’t be entertainment, but hey, pass the popcorn!
