Russian troops have created a monster ‘turtle tank’ as they try to thwart Ukrainian drones.

Video shows the tank has been completely covered in armour plating and anti-drone wire. It also has a KMT-7 mine plough on the front that is designed to clear minefields. The tank is also likely equipped with advanced jamming equipment to stop the drones. This is not visible in the video but has been attached to similar tanks. More footage from inside the tank shows how the armour restricts the tank’s view. The turret is more or less immobilised and cannot rotate under the armour. And the added weight appears to have slowed the vehicle down to a crawl. However, Ukrainian troops say these tanks have proved surprisingly hard to stop. Russian armoured assault increasingly feature these tanks at the head of columns. This is because Ukraine is running low on artillery shells and anti-tank rockets, which would have relatively little trouble penetrating this kind of armour. And has been replacing these weapons with FPV drones, which are far less destructive but far more accurate meaning they can target the tank’s weakest spots. Russia is also thought to be running low on tanks so is trying to conserve what it has. #russia #ukraine #war

  1. All laughing lads – try to engage this child of two years wartime evolution of tanks. Not funny at all. And its turret is as deadly as before the upgrade.

  2. Apparently the drawbavk of this design is inability of ejecting the crew through Turret Ejection System (TES), because of the shell. Russians are working on modifications though

  3. The whole world can admire Russian engineering. Give Ivan a lot of vodka and he comes up with such "brilliant" ideas.

  4. Remember when the media and Ukraine were mocking it, then they saw it brush off the Drones and lead personnel vehicles to drop guys off to take more territory?🤣🤣🤣🤣

  5. The Russians can add multiple layer of protection but forget that a single drone can target the tracks which will never ever be covered unless they want their tanks to use highways… but only highways 🙂 what a batch of turds.

  6. No watch; in a few months NATO forces will have copied this with their own version. Of course they will need to find some tanks first as the Abrams are being withdrawn and our Challengers are reportedly hiding or protecting Kiev….maybe the can find a 1970s Leopard one tank to convert.

  7. If that tanks original armor was like paper for drones and javelins, i don't think adding some scrap metal is going to help.

  8. So it leads the column but the column itself is made up of largely Unprotected conventional vehicles and it can't move its turret….this is NUTS, Russia should be doing like Ukraine, Drones are the future heavy slow armor is so yesterday !
