>During Meloni’s first year in power in Italy, Europe’s highest number of strategic lawsuits against public participation – so-called Slapp cases – were brought in the country
Remember this when Meloni cries about free speech like with that far right circlejerk event in Brussels recently.
My academic opinion is – we’re tired of that shithead and her place is in prison.
Italy is not America! Take your fascist shit and get out!
What a surprise. A fascist government doing something fascist.
Yes, that’s what it is. I appreciate her stance on the Ukrainian invasion, as per Draghi’s legacy, but you can’t expect Meloni to be Sanna Marin.
Italy needs a new Tito to free us from these people once and for all.
Hurl slander and then proclaim yourself an intellectual 🤣🤣🤣
Leftist tried to silence the minister and he fought back
Wow, a right-wing government abusing speech laws to silence people. never seen before.
Hey! I’ve seen this one before.
Haven’t they learned anything at all?
I wonder where are all the people saying it’s stupid to have US-type freedom of speech.
“freedom of speech is not freedom of consequences” mf when the government changes and uses these laws against them.
I’m Italian and definitely against this government (for me fascists and mafiosi = not humans) that I consider damages the interest of my country and is opening the ground to very bad political possibilities.
That being said, Donatella di Cesare is known for having made a “farewell post” upon the death of a left wing terrorist, Barbara Balzerani, who was affiliated to Brigate Rosse (yes, the same organisation that kidnapped and killed a prime minister, and also killed many professors of her own university, Sapienza). I find interesting that Guardian fails to report this.
