That’s a bit like me telling that mountain cougar the same thing as he prepares to devour my skull
Ireland might soon find out that in the eyes of imperialists there is no such thing as neutral.
Picture looks like those ships are on fire lol
It’s quite interesting how Russian pressure has not tried to spare countries that are not even in NATO. Now everyone from Sweden to Ireland is actually more prone to join.
I don’t think Russia cares about your thoughts on naval exercise, Ireland
Which non-NATO country will Russia bully next?
This is Russia targeting UK weakspot which is deep sea cables under sea from Ireland to USA, if that went out then there’s serious issues.
Russia seem to be keen to get every non Nato state in Europe to join. I wonder how they plan to get on Austrias nerves. No direct access, I’m sure they will find a way
Russia is off the Christmas card list
Sending McGregor would have been more terrifying.
I’m all seriousness what is Ireland going to do about it?
My guess is absolutely nothing and Russia really couldn’t care less about anything Ireland say
hey neighbours
we’re always happy to take on responsibility of naval security you know, think we’re doing a good job with air security. And don’t worry certainly not a plan to eventually take over 😉
I get that Russia has every right to do this in international waters – but why are they doing this?
Can Russia gtfo?
I hear its always a great idea for naval-exercises by a hostile power in-between 3 of the best navies on earth.
>The area – off the west coast of Europe – is far from any of Russia’s permanent naval bases, and is also near several critical transatlantic data cables, which defence experts have warned Russia could pose a risk to.
I mean no offense, Ireland. But why is it left to the Irish to warn Russia against this if they’re potentially next to critical fucking infrastructure like these deep sea cables? Why aren’t France, UK, US, etc warning them off by sending ships next to these cables?
It’s in Ireland’s EEZ but they’re a neutral country, not in NATO, and they have jack shit naval capabilities besides the extremely basic tug boat variety. Again, not a diss or anything in Ireland. Much respect. They want nothing to do with war. But it sounds like bigger and better equipped countries need to step up.
Think of how much ocean Russia has access to….. to pick that particular spot lol
Ireland to Russia: feck off
Let me guess. This is coincidentally near a transatlanic fibre obtic cable that has some Huawei gear attached to it?
Russian submarines will just be in the area “as part of the exercise” and their presence and the live fire has “nothing at all” to do with keeping western eyes off anything that might be happening to the cable underwater?
A lot of countries rightfully telling Russia to go fuck a bear😂
Generally Russian military is not welcome everywhere. Stick to your country, kacaps.
“lol”, said Russia, “lmao”
We, Ireland, should at least match the rest of the EU’s spending on defence instead of the pittance per GDP it currently is. If not NATO, then a common EU defence with our partners is surely compatiable with Ireland’s interests.
